Leadership Communication Essentials
The Leadership Communication Essentials class will help participants 1) understand effective leadership communication concepts, 2) practice and demonstrate mastery of these concepts, and 3) apply these concepts to their current and future work situations.
Class content will encompass leadership communications best practices—both verbal and written—to achieve the following program goals:
- Provide participants with targeted training that complements the communication fundamentals learned in Write It Right.
- Improve participants’ communication skills with current and future colleagues and customers.
- Offer participants strategies and tools to effectively express ideas verbally and in writing.
- Help participants determine what message to communicate and how to communicate the corporate and individual value successfully and persuasively.
- Enable participants to communicate accurately, consistently, and positively with teams and internal clients about key corporate direction and initiatives.
Leadership Communication Essentials is a six-hour training delivered in two half-day modules and is designed to improve written and verbal communications skills. In this highly interactive, leadership-specific class, the participants will learn the following key leadership communications skills:
- Communicate unwelcome or difficult messages with tact and sensitivity
- Project a positive image, both verbally and in writing
- Persuade readers and listeners to your point of view
- Write more confidently, clearly, powerfully, and succinctly
- Shorten time spent on document writing
- Sell your message
- Manage perception and risk within the organization
- Create a professional tone, regardless of the message
- Enhance professional credibility
- Write effective critical corporate communication to colleagues and customers, such as: E-mail, Executive Summaries, Thank-You Notes, Agendas and Announcements, Key Initiative Memos, Meeting Notes, Status Reports, Review and Work Plans, and Policies and Procedures
